Exploring dau/mau trends sparks fresh ideas on understanding user engagement and growth strategies

Been diving into our DAU/MAU trends lately. It’s fascinating how much these numbers can reveal about user behavior.

Noticed some patterns that got me thinking about new ways to boost engagement. Curious if others have had similar revelations from their metrics.

DAU/MAU trends are gold for understanding engagement. I’ve found looking at weekly patterns super useful too.

Sometimes small tweaks to notifications or onboarding can make a big difference in those numbers. Might be worth A/B testing a few ideas to see what sticks.

DAU/MAU is okay. I just watch what users do and adjust.

DAU/MAU is useful, but don’t get stuck on that alone. Look at retention curves, session lengths, and feature usage. Those tell you more about real engagement.

I’ve had clients obsess over DAU/MAU and miss the forest for the trees. One app thought they were crushing it, but users were just opening for 5 seconds to clear notifications.

Focus on driving meaningful actions that create value for users. That’s what moves the needle on growth and revenue long-term.

DAU/MAU is okay, but don’t forget about other stuff. We look at session times and which features people use a lot. Sometimes small changes can make a big difference.

DAU/MAU is a solid starting point, but I’ve learned it doesn’t tell the whole story. Recently, I dug deeper into our metrics for a dating app and found some interesting stuff.

We noticed our DAU/MAU looked great, but revenue wasn’t growing. Turns out, a lot of users were just swiping without messaging. Changed our onboarding to encourage more messaging, and boom - better conversions.

Also, started looking at time of day patterns. Found a spike in usage during lunch breaks. We timed some push notifications for right before lunch, saw a nice bump in engagement.

One last thing - cohort analysis was eye-opening. Helped us spot which features kept users coming back month after month. Definitely worth the extra effort to set up.
