Which dashboard reporting software balances depth with accessibility?

Been bouncing between different analytics tools for our mobile app metrics. Some are way too complex for the team to actually use daily, others are too basic.

Looking for something that gives real insights but doesn’t require a data science degree to understand.

I’ve used Amplitude for three different apps over the past few years. The charts are clean enough that non-technical people actually look at them, but you can still dig deep when you need to.

The retention analysis saved me hours compared to building those reports manually. Plus their anomaly detection caught a few issues before they became real problems.

One thing - their free tier is solid if you’re just getting started. Way better than paying for features you might not even use.

Posthog if you want simple charts with solid user tracking.

Google Analytics 4 does the job for basic mobile tracking. Free and most people already know it.

Hotjar plus your existing analytics tool works better than switching everything. Most teams already have basic metrics covered but miss the why behind user behavior. Hotjar shows you session recordings and heatmaps that explain the drops in your funnel. You get the context your current dashboard can’t provide without adding another complex platform that nobody will check.

Mixpanel works well for mobile apps because it shows user behavior without overwhelming you with too many options.

The funnel and cohort reports are easy to read, and you can set up custom events that actually matter for your app. Most team members pick it up quickly without needing training.
