Anyone managed app store fee reduction successfully?

Been trying to get our app store fees lowered for months. Feels like we’re leaving money on the table.

Curious if others have had success negotiating or finding workarounds. What strategies actually worked for you?

Nah just focus on your product. Fees suck but improving the app matters more.

Forget negotiating. Apple and Google won’t budge on their 30% cut. Focus on what you can control.

Optimize your pricing strategy. Test higher price points or subscription tiers. Even small increases can offset fees.

Push more transactions off-platform. Drive users to your website for purchases or subscriptions when possible.

Consider alternative monetization like sponsorships or affiliate deals that bypass store fees entirely.

These tactics have worked for my clients. They’re not sexy, but they get results without wasting time on dead-end fee negotiations.

Been down this road a few times. Negotiating lower fees is pretty much a dead end - the big platforms don’t budge.

What’s worked for us is getting creative with revenue streams. We started pushing premium features through our website, driving traffic there from the app. Tricky to do without breaking rules, but possible.

Another win was partnering with brands for in-app sponsorships. That revenue doesn’t get touched by store fees.

Also, don’t overlook pricing tweaks. We bumped our sub price by $1 and it covered the fee hit without hurting conversions much.

It’s all about working the angles you can control. Fees suck, but there are ways to offset them if you get creative.

Yeah fees are tough. Maybe try tweaking your pricing or finding other ways to make money. Not much else you can do really.
