Has anyone successfully monetized their API? It seems like a ton of work for documentation and support for a handful of customers.

Been thinking about opening up our API but the effort feels massive.

Documentation alone would take weeks, then there’s support tickets and integration help.

Seems like most API customers want everything custom anyway.

Skip it. Build features that get more paying users instead.

We tried it last year. Made maybe $200 total after months of work. Not worth it unless you have tons of users.
