We’re considering a 30% increase in our subscription price, but I’m really concerned about the potential churn.
Has anyone recently managed this? What strategies actually helped retain users during the price change?

Did this on a productivity app two years back. Same kind of increase.
Gave existing users locked rates for 6 months before new pricing hit. Called it “founder pricing.”
CEO sent the email explaining rising costs and new features coming. Personal touch worked - churn only went up 8% above normal.
Don’t announce during renewal time. Give people 30+ days so they can adjust.
Gradual increases work better than big jumps. We did 15% twice instead of 30% once.
Grandfathering works best. Lock current users into their price for at least 90 days while new users pay more. This will give you time to prove the additional value is worth the increase. People tend to leave when they feel caught off guard. Choose the right time to announce it, like after users see real value from your app, such as completing a project or reaching a milestone. That’s when they’ll be more likely to accept paying more.
