I just track conversions and churn. Everything else is noise.
Pick one primary tool and stick with it for at least 3 months. I see this mistake constantly - people switch platforms every few weeks chasing features. Start with basic metrics that actually drive revenue. Daily active users, retention curves, and conversion rates from install to first purchase. Ignore vanity metrics like session duration or page views. Focus on events that correlate with users who actually pay. Set up cohort analysis first. Everything else is noise until you understand how user behavior changes over time.
I keep it simple with two tools at most. One tracks installs to first purchase and the other focuses on retention data.
Setting up custom events for actions taken by paying users is key. Many track irrelevant metrics that don’t impact revenue.
Knowing what converts allows for better campaign optimization based on actual user behavior.
