Mixpanel is your best bet here. Their Insights feature automatically identifies retention drops and conversion issues, then guides you on what to do next. It shows which user segments to target or which flows need improvement. Amplitude is also good but focuses more on user behavior. Both outperform standard analytics because they provide actionable insights rather than just raw data.
Hotjar blew me away - way more useful than just heatmaps. The session recordings showed exactly where people were getting stuck in our funnel.
The real breakthrough? I combined it with cohort analysis from our main analytics. I’d watch recordings of week 1 churners, then compare them to users who stayed.
