Been hunting for analytics tools that actually show how my app stacks up against competitors in my specific vertical.
Most platforms give generic benchmarks that don’t mean much. Need something that breaks down performance by niche or industry category.
Try Mixpanel for app category cohort analysis.
Branch drops industry reports with CAC and LTV benchmarks every quarter - real campaign data, not made-up numbers. If you’re doing gaming, GameAnalytics has great retention and monetization benchmarks broken down by subgenre instead of useless generic averages. For organic growth stuff, Apptopia’s market intel reports track download velocity and ranking patterns by category.
AppAnnie (now data.ai) breaks down metrics by category, so you get real numbers from your vertical instead of random averages.
Sensor Tower does the same thing - you can filter by app categories when checking download and revenue benchmarks. Both aren’t free, but the category filtering actually makes the data worth comparing against.
Facebook Ads Library is free and shows what competitors are running by category. Filter by app installs to see their creative approaches.
For retention benchmarks, Leanplum’s free reports have decent industry breakdowns. Not as detailed as paid tools but gives ballpark numbers for your vertical.
Also check AppsFlyer’s performance index reports - they publish quarterly data by app category. Helped me figure out if our D7 retention was actually competitive or just looked good next to overall averages.
